This is another of these articles that floods the Mackera blogosphere.
First-generation MacBook Airs are starting to have problems with the hinge on that little lid that encloses the minijack, USB, and mini-DVI.
Everywhere I have seen that they put this photo that has nothing to do with the USB port ...
... but I think it is better to put this other photo since it says much more about the origin of the problem:
I don't want to defend Apple in this case. Although it is more than likely that the breakage of many of these covers has its origin when connecting large devices, Apple is to blame for having designed a port that does not appear flush with the surface to be able to connect any USB device into it.
The problem would be solved with a small USB A (in) / A (out) patch cord between the device and the port.

Well ... I have never put a USB of that size or that it did not fit well, apart from the fact that I can count on the fingers of my hands the times that I have used a USB and today it has broken practically alone, when I closed the top of my macbook air ¬¬
And on top of that I think the warranty has expired (1 year, which by law would have to be 2) a few days ago ...
Tomorrow I'll call Apple to see what they tell me
THE MAC AIR SYSTEM OF THAT MODEL IS REALLY VERY DELICATE. THE USB PORT FAILED TO ME AND THEN THE VISAGES IS NOT VERY PROFITABLE TO FIX ...
