The HomePod will not have all the features on its release.

HomePod

These last hours we have known important news in relation to the launch of the HomePod. Apple is expected to have a million HomePods and we can see it in stores in 3-4 weeks. At the Apple speaker presentation at the Developer Conference in June 2017, we learned about several features of the speaker.

Today Apple has confirmed that Some features, among which is the possibility of listening to stereo sound, or even the same sound from another room as long as you have more than one HomePod, it will not be available at the beginning of the commercialization.

This feature will come in a later software update, expected by the end of the year. Intentional or not, this non-inclusion of the audio function has created some expectation. Some users complain once again that Apple releases a product without having all its functions ready. In any case, this feature is talked about in the forums and this is good for the company.

The function will allow connect the whole house with the same melody or choose what type of melody we want to hear in each room, thanks to AirPlay 2 technology. Stereo sound is created when two HomePods are in the same room. Everything seems to indicate that we do not have to do anything about it. The speakers will detect each other and start playing the audio in stereo. Logically, this function must be able to be overridden from the application or by indicating it to Siri.

Received this year in a free software update, users will be able to play music throughout the house with different audios. If HomePod is in the kitchen, users can ask Siri to play jazz in the dining room or to play the same song in every room, perfectly in sync. If more than one HomePod is set up in the same room, users can set it up as a pair of stereo speakers, for an even more immersive sound experience.

It is expected that from this Friday 26 reservations can be made although it remains to be seen in which markets it will be available initially.
