Great news without a doubt for all those users who want to have an Apple laptop with the new M2 processor, and do not want to spend a fortune buying a MacBook Pro. So for sure, it will be a bestseller this year.
As of today, Apple already supports orders of your brand new MacBook Air M2. With the most standard configurations, the first deliveries will be made from the next Friday July 15. If you want a slightly more unusual configuration, you will have to wait another week to enjoy the new laptop with the second generation of Apple ARM processors.
In its most basic configuration (with octa-core GPU), the new MacBook Air M2 is priced at 1.519 Euros (1.404 Euros if you are a student or teacher). If you want more power, you also have it with a 10-core GPU, and its price starts at 1.869 Euros.
Features of the new MacBook Air M2
You have it available in four different colors: Midnight, star white, Space gray y Silver. If the main novelty, apart from having a new lighter chassis, is undoubtedly mounting the new Apple M2 processor, seen so far only in the current MacBook Pro. Its power increases depending on the assigned tasks, but it is calculated between 20 and 40% more than the same laptop with M1 processor. An atrocity.
There are two different versions, differing only in the processor. You have the cheapest with an M2 with 8 core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency and 8-core GPU, and a more powerful version, with an M2 processor with an 8-core CPU with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency and 10-core GPU.
Its basic configuration brings 8 GB of unified RAM and 256 GB of internal SSD storage. Obviously, we can configure it with options of 16 or 24 GB of RAM and 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB of SSD storage.
Now the screen of the new MacBook Air M2 is somewhat larger than that of its predecessor: 13,6 inches compared to the 13,3 inches of the previous one. The panel is LED with IPS technology, native resolution of 2.560 by 1.664 at 224 pixels per inch, compatible with one billion colors. It has a maximum brightness of 500 nits, a wide color gamut (P3) and has True Tone technology.
It has a new charging connector MagSafe, and depending on the model, it incorporates a 30 or 35W charger. And thanks to the greater energy efficiency of the M2, its autonomy reaches up to 18 hours of video playback and up to 15 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing.
