On the Rocks movie will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 26

On the Rocks Blu-Ray

The movie On the Rocks starring Bill Murray and directed by Sofia Coppola is the first original movie of Apple's streaming video platform that will be released in physical format. However, it is not the first, since a few months ago, the miniseries Defend Jacob, was also released in this format.

The distribution in the domestic market in DVD and Blu-Ray format is carried out by Lionsgate Home Entertainment and will hit the market on October 26. In fact, it can already be booked through Amazon and other points of sale, although initially only in the United States, but it will be a matter of weeks before it reaches the rest of the countries.

On the Rocks was the first product that was born from Apple's collaboration with the production company A24 after signing a multi-year agreement. Last July, we published a news item that pointed out that Apple might be interested in buying this production companyHowever, since then we have not heard from it again.

The film follows the story of a young New York mother who you face doubts in your marriage and teams up with her father, Bill Murray, a New York playboy, to keep an eye on her husband, in a comedy that is described as bittersweet about relationships.

In addition to Bill Murray as lead actor and Sofia Coppola as directing, On the Rocks features Rashida Jones (in the role of Murray's daughter) and with Malon Wayans (as Rashida's husband).

This film received a total of 41 nominations, obtaining 2 of them. On the Rocks premiered on Apple TV + in November 2020 and has a 87% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
