A few hours ago Apple presented the new MacBook Pro models, some models that in addition to seeing how their price has risen considerably, Apple has added new features and functions that allow us to use the computer as if it were a professional computer. If we have the need to connect our Mac to a monitor, the 15-inch model allows us to connect up to 4 monitors with 4k resolution simultaneously through the Thunderbolt connections that the 15-inch model integrates or we can connect 2 monitors with 5k resolution simultaneously.

These are possible thanks to the new Thunderbolt ports offered by the DisplayPort interface. However, the 13-inch model is not capable of supporting such many monitors with 4k and 5k resolution.  The 13-inch model with Touch Pad allows us to connect two monitors with 4k resolution and a monitor with 5k resolution. The main difference is found in the graph that both devices integrate.

As we can read in the specifications of the 15-inch MacBook Pro:

Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the integrated display supporting millions of colors and:

  • Up to two displays with a resolution of 5.120 by 2.880 at 60 Hz supporting more than XNUMX billion colors
  • Up to four 4.096-by-2.304 60Hz resolution displays supporting over XNUMX billion colors

Thunderbolt 3 digital video output

  • Native DisplayPort output via USB-C

  • VGA, HDMI, and Thunderbolt 2 outputs via adapters (sold separately)

LG has reached an agreement with Apple to jointly manufacture 4k and 5k resolution monitors, monitors that will hit the market by the end of the year. with prices of $ 699 and $ 1.299,95. Monitors with 4k resolution are easy to find. Currently on the market we can find a large number of models with very good value for money. However, if we talk about monitors with 5k resolution, things get complicated, since there are many models with this resolution on the market that are worth it, except the one manufactured by Dell.
