September is the date chosen by Apple to present the long-awaited next generation of Apple TV, at least so John Paczkowski of the BuzzFeed publication says. In addition and according to different sources familiar with Apple's plans, the new set-top-box will be unveiled in September right at the same event in which Apple presumably presents its next-generation iPhone, both 6s and 6s Plus.
As has been rumored for some time, it is said that this new Apple TV will integrate an A8 processor, a remote control with a touch panel that will drastically improve the user experience compared to the current version in addition to a renewed operating system that will stop being a shortened version of iOS to become an adapted version that will have access to the App Store, a specific API for developers and even the possibility of integrating Siri, Apple's virtual assistant and that it would respond to voice commands.
In addition to all this, the new Apple TV will have a new, more stylish physical appearance. On the other hand, it is not expected to be launched at the same time as the new streaming TV service that Apple would launch at the end of 2015 or even already into 2016, something that is more than likely, all the rumors indicate that this service television would group at least 25 channels and a cost of between $ 30 and $ 40 a month and that for the moment it would only be available in the US, without even having an approximate date of when it would be launched in other countries.
To give you an idea of what Apple is trying to improve the television offer and Apple TV itself, it was expected that they would be ready for presentation at WWDC 2015 in June, however according to other information, Apple would not be happy with the product so in the end it decided to delay it.
In any case, a renewed version of Apple TV has not been presented since 2012, so now more than ever it makes sense to present an updated generational replacement with support for the App Store and other characteristics that would indicate an important step from the platform we know and we use today.
