We have only been with the new iMac 2020 on the market for a couple of days and the Geekbench performance by social networks. In fact, some of the iMac i9 had been running for a few days before it was released.

Those that have been published today are of the most basic model of the new 27-inch iMac Powered by a 5Ghz i3,1 processor, and unsurprisingly, it far outperforms the base iMac of the same size as available so far. Let's see that data.

The first ones are already starting to run through social networks test of performance of the new iMac presented ... well, rather, launched without presenting by Apple this week.

On the website makotara, have presented the benchmark benchmarks of the new 27-inch iMac, and as you might expect, outperforms to the base model that existed previously.

The new iMac in its most basic model, an Intel Core 5 GHz i3,1 it achieved a multi-core score of 5688 on the Geekbench 5 app. The 2019 base model had 4746 points. Single-core performance was 1090, just 6% faster than the 1027 points achieved last year.

This means that the new entry-level 27-inch Intel Core i5 3.1GHz iMac is approximately 1,2 times faster than the previous model, a 27-inch iMac with Intel Core. i5 3.0GHz

In terms of graphics performance, the GPU Radeon Pro 5300 of the base model presented this week is around 36% faster than the previous one in Test Metal, and 43% faster in OpenCL. The 2019 model had a GPU Radeon Pro 570X.

This is the data for the cheapest 27-inch iMac model. The news is to see how the new most expensive model in the range performs, with an all-powerful 10-core CPU  i9 3,6 GHz, which reaches up to 5Ghz with Turbo Boost. We hope to have performance data soon.
