The new 21.5-inch 4K and 27-inch 5K iMac introduced the day before yesterday have already undergone various tests under the ubiquitous synthetic testing program, Geekbench 3. The final results of the latest models from the end of 2015 showed higher scores than the previous generation as expected, both in tasks that required single-core and multi-core scoring.

These new iMacs are depending on the chosen configuration, 7% to 20% faster than previous models in Geekbench tests. Keep in mind that these results have to be averaged with other results in various tests to draw a final conclusion.

According to Mac's Japanese blog, Otakara, the new 21.5 ″ 4k iMac, equipped with an Intel Core i5 3.1GHz quad-core processor, achieved a single-core and multi-core score in the 64-bit test of 3.787 and 12.803, respectively. If we put it in perspective and compare it with the results of its namesake from the end of 2013, with an Intel Core i5 at 2,9Ghz the results they were 3.543 and 10.685 respectively.

Tests were also carried out with the 27-inch model and 5K resolution, choosing that of input range with the most modest CPU, a quad-core 5GHz Intel Core i3,2 that earned single-core and multi-core ratings of 3.931 and 12.079, respectively. If we stick to the model with a higher processor at 3.3 GHz, the scores went up to 4214 in single-core and multi-core of 13.081.
