Aspyr the star developer who carry out ports for Mac of such important games like Bioshock for example, has announced that it will launch this long-awaited version of "Borderlands: The Pre-sequel" on October 14, so far everything would be logical and normal but the news is that it will be released at the same time for PC and consoles so that OS X users can enjoy the game at the same time as others, without the usual waiting between systems.

Even more importantly, the Mac version will be released with the same features as the PC version, including the downloadable content updates (DLC) and the multiplayer option for all platforms. You can see that the development team in charge has put themselves hand in hand with 2k gearbox, to have the game ready the same day of launch.

Borderlands: The pre-sequel would be set in the time between previous Borderlands games, and would come to tell the story of Handsome Jack's rise to power. There is also the possibility for the first time in the history of the game that Claptrap, the robot "pet" of this game, is ultimately a playable character. It is currently in pre-sale and can be reserved through GameAgent, although the game will be finally available on October 16 as a download through the Mac App Store.

The game requirements to make it work are:

  • OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 or later
  • Intel Core 2 Duos @ 2,2 GHz or equivalent
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 13 GB of hard disk space.
  • Supported video cards would start from NVIDIA GeForce 8800, ATI Radeon HD 2600, or Intel HD 3000 with a minimum of 256MB of video memory.
