The new macOS Catalina is close, these are the compatible Macs

MacOS

The last WWDC held in June It left us with honey on our lips after seeing some of the new features of the Mac operating system, macOS Catalina. We are all looking forward to having this new OS officially installed as soon as possible on our Macs, but we have to keep waiting until the key moment arrives, which may be this week.

They really have taken a long time to launch this GM version of macOS Catalina but right now we already have the developers with it installed, so it is a matter of hours for everyone to arrive. In this sense we will leave The list of Mac compatible with this new macOS 10.15 Catalina.

Many teams will be able to upgrade to macOS Catalina

That is not a cut-off year for Apple and therefore, although it is true that many users will no longer be able to install the new version of macOS Catalina on their Macs, this is because they no longer have Mojave and therefore are rather old computers . This does not mean that we have to change Mac (Although it would be a matter of starting to raise it) since our team can work perfectly with a previous system, although it is true that we will not be able to enjoy the new features implemented in this new macOS.

But the equipment that can be updated are many and in this case the oldest would be the MacBook Pros from 2012 onwards, Mac mini, MacBook Air and iMac from that same year too. From those teams to the current ones, everyone can update, then we have the Mac Pro from 2013, which obviously will also perfectly accept macOS Catalina and we continue with the 12-inch MacBook from 2015 to the most current from 2017. Finally, the iMac Pro from 2017 to the current ones.

Any team after these dates is left out of the new version, which does not mean that they were not able to move it with ease, simply that there has to be a cut and in this case teams with more than 8 years in the market are left out.
