The RAM memory of the iMac Pro can only be updated by an official Apple technical service

iMac Pro

Today has been the day chosen by Apple to power the next beast on the market. This time it was the turn of the new iMac Pro, an iMac never seen before in space gray, with peripherals such as keyboard, mouse and trackpad in a new color and style and with enviable internal hardware.

However, it has taken little time to start to skip aspects that users are not going to like so much and the first news that comes to us is that the RAM of these 27-inch iMac It will not be possible to change it by the user in a simple way through a tailgate as before.

The iMac Pro are 27-inch iMac with a new anodized aluminum color in space gray and with enviable technical characteristics. However, the way the RAM can be changed on the current 27-inch iMac 5K it is not the same as the newer 27-inch iMac Pro.

In this case, the 27-inch iMac Pro does not have that rear hatch so the increase in RAM memory will not be able to be done as before. This does not mean that the RAM memory cannot be increased and it is that if after having purchased the equipment you decide that you want more RAM inside, You can take it to an Apple Store or an official technical service and they will install it for a small fee.

There are no post-purchase options to upgrade the SSD, processor, or graphics card in the iMac Pro.

Apple kicked off sales of the 8-core and 10-core iMac Pro today that will begin shipping this week, while the 14-core and 18-core options won't be available for shipment for another 6-8 weeks.
