The RAM of the new Mac mini is soldered

mac mini-2014

We continue to break down the news presented by Apple in its last keynote and today we come across the Mac mini. A few hours ago our colleague Miguel published an entry about him new Mac mini performance Apple and now we will see another part of the little Mac that we just don't like it.

If it's clear and the title says it all, the new Mac minis have soldered the RAM to your motherboard and this is something that users do not like. While it is true that there are places outside Apple where we can carry out an increase in RAM despite being welded in the future, it is always better for the user to be able to add memory in the future easily, but this is not the case.

Although it is true that this 'handicap' on RAM memory will not take away the illusion of having a Mac mini at home with a really good price, it makes the user think about the option of increasing the amount of RAM so as not to have problems in the future and this already increases its final price.

When we saw the price of the renewed Mac mini for the first time after its presentation, I admit that I was delighted by all those friends, acquaintances, etc., who always remember me how expensive it is to have a Mac. It came to my mind that the Mac mini would be a bestseller, and even though I still think about it to this day Acknowledging 'how bad I feel' the RAM soldered onto the board, I think it's still a good input device for the OS X world.

Now I ask you a question if you allow me: Would you recommend a friend to buy the new Mac mini?

I would definitely recommend it and I am recommending it. We have to remember that this product is extremely inexpensive which is a very good attraction. In the sun today I have a Mac mini and the reality is that I have no interest in uploading the memory. With the passing of the years, instead of raising the memory, I would copy the Mac mini that is at that moment 😉

The one about the soldered ram memory passed ... but the one about the redeeming of the processor below the previous model cries out to heaven. It is the first time that I see Apple renew a product by going backwards in its development. Of grief. I expected this renewal like May water and now I don't know what to do.

For a entry-level Mac, it's great but surely its owner will soon fall short on all sides. It resembles the tactic used with the iMac but at a very good price. Yes I recommend it but the 16 GB one and this already goes up more in price

With the Ram soldered to the plate I would never recommend it, it is but I just got a mac mini from 280-2010 for 2011 euros to a friend with a core 2 duo much earlier than this new one with soldered ram, let's not go crazy! and already with the base processor of 1.4 Ghz not even dreaming about it! Would have to see the intel hd 5000 how it works ... but the mac mini for 500 euros seems like a chestnut to me. I have a mac mini from 2011-2012, I am not sure now the year and it has an i5 at 2,5 Ghz and after trying my friend's core 2 duo, another core two duo from an imac from 2010 and the core two duo From my white macbook from 2008, I could tell you that they all work better than the i5. Regards!

To the last question I have to answer that:

    NOT WITH YOUR MONEY.

    All-welded-to-garbage teams NO, thanks.

Hopefully they give you some Chinese for selling cheap motherboards with 8gb and 16gb and it has been said to change plates, taking advantage of the fact that you change the hd for an ssd.
