I don't know if we could call it a curse, but the scripts for Apple's most successful series, The Morning Show, are constantly being revised adapting to today's changes. The first season of The Morning Show was almost completely rebooted to accommodate the #MeToo movement and the firing of host Matt Lauer for inappropriate sexual behavior.
According to the Deadline medium, who has had the opportunity to speak with Mark Duplass (who plays Chip Black in the series), the second season of The Morning Show is being rewritten to accommodate current changes that in society and around the world has caused the coronavirus.
As Mark Duplass states:
We shot two episodes [of the new season] before we closed due to the pandemic. But I know they are rewriting as well, which is crazy because that's what happened in the first season. They had a whole set of scripts [then] and they rewrote everything to include the #MeToo movement, and now we have another bigger global phenomenon to deal with. I don't know what they are doing, but I know they are rewriting.
Having to rewrite the first season due to the #MeToo movement it's definitely a good thing, But it didn't have to involve rewriting the second season for something bad, like the coronavirus. Most likely, both situations have been a source of insomnia for both the producers and the scriptwriters of the series who have not wanted to miss the opportunity to create a current series.
