Smartwatch shipping continues to be dominated by Apple according to IDC

Apple Watch Series 4

Wearables sales this Q1 of 2019 have reached 55,2% and Apple continues to be the one that sells the most devices. In this case, it is also nothing new for those of us who have been following this type of study for some time to see how the Apple smart watch is made every quarter with the first place in terms of units shipped.

The new IDC report indicates that Apple shipped 12,8 million devices during this Q1 and is located comfortably in the first position of the table. It is true that these figures are not official but they are quite close to reality as we can see every three months with external reports to Apple.

The table is quite clear and Apple even outperforms firms that directly sell quantifying bracelets with really affordable prices. And we have to bear in mind that Apple Watch are not exactly cheap devices, but this does not prevente month after month they continue to be sold by the millions around the world. It is a perfect complement to the iPhone despite the fact that it is increasingly independent of it thanks to LTE and also focused on sports and health.

IDC data

We can say that the data is clear and that in all cases Apple is sweeping this Apple Watch. When we see these tables we cannot forget what it cost the company to launch the first smartwatch model and how profitable this device is coming out for them. The growth in the sales of these devices is being spectacular and Apple is at the top of the companies that sell the most, as shown in these studies despite the fact that the firm itself does not offer real sales figures.
