Is updating the MacBook Air in danger?

For a few days I have been pondering the options why Apple does not update the MacBook Air in terms of the new Intel 6th generation Skylake processors, the possibility of adding the Retina display and others. In this time of "meditation" I am beginning to think that Apple is not really going to update the mythical and thin MacBook Air any more and will be relegated to the background like the already residual MacBook Pro without a Retina display that we have in the Macs catalog available in the Apple Store.

I am more and more convinced of this even though it seems strange to me and I still resist believing that the MacBook Air end up stagnating this year. thinking about it coldly we have enough time to see a simple update in terms of processors that would arrive before Christmas, but taking into account that in the US, This month of November is important in terms of user purchases I can't quite understand Apple's stance on the MacBook Air.

One more reason is that in the beta versions released there is no trace of possible changes in this MacBook Air and if they found details of a possible change or update for Mac Pro. We also have no references on the new 12,5-inch MacBooks, but this model will surely end up receiving the processor update soon and it is precisely this change that makes me doubt whether we will see an update on the MacBook Air, since despite the fact that the Air surpasses the new MacBook in ports, we all know Apple's path to wireless equipment ...

The Macbook Air were updated on March 9 of this year adding the new Intel Broadwell processors and the new Thunderbolt 2. This Air in my personal opinion is marked by Apple since the launch of the 12,5 ″ MacBook and now it will be time to see if Apple updates them to latest processor model and adds the Force Touch to the trackpad Either start putting this Mac aside.

This is my personal opinion looking at the movements of Apple and how long it takes to update this MacBook Air and other Mac models with the new processors, but in the case of the Retina MacBook Pro, Mac mini and Mac Pro they do not have a «so close rival at home»As is the case of the MacBook Air with the 12,5-inch MacBook. And finally, I also do not forget the famous post-pc era that the CEO of Apple himself mentioned a couple of days ago just before defining the launch date of the iPad Pro, a tablet of precisely 12.9 inches ... It all adds up to not updating this MacBook Air, but we'll see what happens in the end.

So if you focus only on the 12 ″ macbook, in a while, there will be no support for the MacBook Air?

Good JP, I repeat what I say in the article several times: it is my personal opinion and at the moment there is nothing confirmed. In the event that this happens, Apple can provide support for the MacBook Air for several years, but that is always decided by them and obviously in several years it would cease to have official support.

      We will see.

      Regards!

Well, I don't know what to do… I am considering buying a MacBook Air 13 ″ 8gb and 128 gb…. It is the almost certain option, although I still have some doubts with the Retina Pro ... But it makes me more expensive 200-odd euros ... if it is going to become a mac relegated to the background, I no longer know what to do .... Do you think they will update it before the end of the year or is it better to opt for the PRO and make an effort as a safe bet ... although the Air is so cool ...
