Officially macOS 12 Monterey has been presented yesterday afternoon at WWDC 2021. I was expecting this new version and its Beta is now available for download and to start consuming its few news and even more so in the first version of the beta. Although we can say that it is quite "continuous" with respect to the current macOS Big Sur. The most innovative are the so-called shortcuts, which will make working with Mac even better. That is why we leave you below a list with compatible Macs with this new version of software.
Apple has wrapped up WWDC 21, introducing macOS Monterey alongside updates for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. While macOS Monterey may not be the largest of the announcements made at WWDC today, the update features a redesigned Safari experience with a new tab design that allows users to see more of the page as they scroll. A new tab bar takes the color of the web page and combines the tabs, toolbar and search field in a single compact design.
The most striking are the shortcuts, as they already existed in iOS and iPadOS and is that this Monterey aims to be the operating system for Macs that makes integration with their counterparts of portable devices seem more and more similar. The symbiosis of Apple, that synchronization between the different devices that has always amazed. That is why it is interesting to know that Mac are the ones that we can update.
These are the Mac computers compatible with the new version:
- iMac - Late 2015 and later
- Mac Pro - Late 2013 and later
- iMac Pro - 2017 and later
- Mac mini- Late 2014 and later
- MacBook Air - Early 2015 and later
