Many are the rumors about the market launch of a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Some rumors speak of a market launch in September, perhaps matching it with the final version of macOS 10.15 Catalina. What is clear is that if Apple already makes this 16-inch MacBook Pro, it would go on the market before 2020.
A few hours ago we met the analyst Jeff lin from IHS Markit that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will feature 9th-generation Intel Coffee Lake processors, similar to the 15-inch model launched in May. Instead, significant changes are foreseen in the design of this equipment.
To have the processor 9th Generation Coffee Lake, most likely we will find the Core processor i9 with up to 8 cores and 2.4 Ghz speeds. where the Turbo mode reaches 5.0 Ghz. A lower version would have 7-core Core i6 processors. The graph that these teams carry would be the Intel UHD Graphics 630.
It is striking that Apple does not use 10th generation Intel processors which he presented last week. This version will have two series Y and U, where the U would be designed for high performance teams. On the other hand, the design of this equipment would be totally new, thus discarding the opinion that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would be a 15-inch computer where the screen is shown without frames. Therefore, according to Jeff Lin, this model would have totally new and narrower bezels, where the big news would be a scissor keyboard. This screen will have a resolution of 3.072 x 1.920 and up to 227 pixels per inch.
In relation to the continuity of the 15-inch model, this analyst has not commented. For some the 16-inch model will replace the 15-inch model. Instead, Ming-Chi-Kuo from International Securities indicated that Apple planned upgrade 15 inch model in 2020. We will see what Apple does, although it can leave the 15-inch model and make a "top" model exclusively for the 16-inch model, very much aimed at video editors and developers.
