These are the reasons to buy a 2017 MacBook Pro and not wait for the next one

During the last days I have been evaluating the possibility of changing my Mac for a new one. The decision is not easy, except by necessity due to the breakage of your Mac that you use daily and that you need without fail. In my case, the Mac works perfectly, but it is good to renew equipment for a certain time to be more efficient in our day to day and learn about the evolution of Apple on Mac computers.

In any case, deciding which Mac will be next is no easy task. And I do not mean only if I should wait for the Macs that have to be presented in the next few months, but also, what requirements I need for the next few years.

This is the first thing we have to assess. Our needs change over time and therefore our next Mac does not have to have the same configuration as the current Mac. In my case, the use that I require of my Mac is an office use, but I demand that it be up to the task on a weekly basis by editing photographs and occasionally video, as one of my hobbies. I come from a MacBook Pro with intel i7 and 4GB of RAM, which I expanded to 8GB. I also swapped the mechanical drive for an SSD drive.

But at the moment, with the high performance that MacBook Pros have offered since 2016, I have opted for a Mac with i5. The only thing I can fall short of is the graphics, but for this I can take advantage of an external eGPU in a few years. further I preferred to choose the 2017 model, compared to waiting for the model that Apple will present to us this year.

I stick with the model from 2017 to this day ...

The equipment is powerful and versatile enough right now, with foresight to last many years. The evolution of Macs is much more linear than other Apple devices, that is, there are no major changes or major performance changes between model and model.  macbook_pro_touch_bar

In addition, to date there are no leaks in relation to the new MacBook Pro. Perhaps the MacBook Pro is lighter, it will carry a better graphics than current models, but We don't expect any major hardware innovations, at least until the end of the year.

On the other hand, the 2017 model is an improved continuation of the 2016 model, which is sufficiently tested. Even the problems with the butterfly keyboard seem to be minimized in the 2017 model. Finally, it is truly spectacular, even more so when we see images of the MacBook Pro in Spacey Gray with MacOS Mojave's Dark Mode.

It may be ... but the keyboard problem seems to be solved and in terms of more powerful Macs, perfect! But now I don't need it

Well, I don't see it clear. The issue is that Apple has abandoned the computer section, the eighth generation of Intel has been among us for a while and most of the competition already mounts them. I don't know what they're waiting for, with Steve Jobs this didn't happen.

The eighth generation is characterized by having processors with more cores, being able to mount an i7 with 6 cores, two more than the seventh generation. It is a considerable improvement. Besides that you can mount 32GB of LPDDR4 memory, something that many users cry out for.

The graph worries me less, now that external graphs can be installed using thunderbolt.

Well, it is the eternal debate, about which you could talk for hours and hours.

It is a matter of optimization. With the current settings, yesterday I was editing RAW photos for an hour, and the Mac was hardly fazed. That is the important thing for me, the rest of the teams will or will not do it, I don't know. In my opinion they better do it. Competition is good for everyone and also for Apple.
