In a recent Fortune magazine interview with Apple CEO, acknowledges that Apple is working hard in a lot of business areas. Many of them are kept in absolute secrecy on Apple Campuses and not all have to be lucrative. He just hopes that some of them will culminate in a lucrative business. In another part of the interview, Cook had to submit to questions about the high price of Apple products, and the apparent contradiction between price and the goal of making products for all budgets.
Regarding the first part of the interview, Cook commented:
There is a long journey in the health area. There are a lot of things that I cannot tell you about what we are working on, some of which it is clear that there is a commercial business behind. On the other hand, others in which it is clear that it is not ... I think it is a large area for the future of Apple.
As an example, Cook put the company's involvement in ResearchKit, which does not have a defined business model, and is only there to improve society. Cook said:
Will ResearchKit lead us anywhere? We'll find out, but we don't know for now.
Tim Cook, refers to the supposed benefit of Apple even indirectly, since ResearchKit collects data from iPhones and Apple Watch, which may benefit you in the future.
In the second part, the price of Apple products was put on the table.
If you look through our product lines, today you can buy an iPad for less than $ 300. You can buy an iPhone and choose the closest to our pocket. They are not only for the rich… Obviously we would not have more than a billion products if we were making them only for the rich, it is a considerable number.
The CEO of Apple ends the interview by acknowledging that not all the decisions of the company can be liked by all his followers, but they try to do things the best possible.
