A few hours ago there was a meeting between Apple CEO Tim Cook and the US administration.. to address issues related to the tariffs that the US and China want to impose in response to the former. A White House official, Larry Kudlow, shared his conclusions from the interview with CNBC, where he transferred that in Cook's opinion, the meeting had been useful.
Among other matters, Cook recounted the experience in the recent commercial trip to China. He commented that the disputes between the two countries could have compromised Apple's sales in the Asian country.
The information is provided by the CNBC network, in the program program Squawk on the Street. Own Kudlow, commented with journalists part of the interview, in which he was partially present. In Kudlow's words:
Tim Cook was a great help. I really enjoyed the reunion. I spent a good amount of time with him.
He loves the tax cut and tax reform… He said it's great for business. And Apple is going to build plants, campuses, add jobs, a lot of business investment. That was the first exposure he made to President Trump.
Kudlow commented that Cook has a long experience of the Chinese market and made some reflections on how to dialogue with the Chinese government.
Apart from these statements, neither Cook nor Trump have made any comment. Nor has there been any disagreement between the two parties, despite the different points of view in relation to immigration and foreign trade negotiations. Both parties have to find a meeting point as they need each other.
Although it seems that this type of news has no relevance on the other side of the pond, the influence of an administration like the North American one on the policies of their country and therefore Apple have influence all over the world.
A favorable treatment towards these companies, favors that the company focuses on innovation and do not divert your attention to the income statement or financial adjustments, which affect such important items at Apple as R&D. This has a direct impact on the magic of Apple and therefore on the satisfaction of each of its users.
