Transcend presents JetDrive Lite, an SD card to expand the storage of our MacBook

Transcend-jetdrive-128-0

Transcend is not actually the first company to sell a special size SD card designed to expand storage in a MacBook, but it can be considered a pioneer in introducing a product with aggressive prices and high storage capacities to the market.

In Transcend they have named this card as Jet Drive Lite, which will be available at prices ranging from $ 49 for the 64Gb version to $ 99 for the 128Gb version. Available in different configurations for the 13 ″ MacBook Air and for the two generations of 13 ”and 15” MacBook Pro Retina. A simple graphic will help us to find the most suitable for our Mac and with this we will only have to pay half of what PNY charges for example for the same capacities in its StorEdge.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMWNFXNWAYwComo ya hemos comentado cada JetDrive Lite está disponible en capacidades de 64GB y 128GB , excepto for model 330, designed exclusively for the MacBook Pro with a 13 ″ Retina display which only reaches 64 Gb.

The operation of the card and its use is as simple as any other card, you just have to insert it in the slot dedicated to it, where it will stay out just long enough to offer you something that you can grab when you take it out. Cards are rated for read speeds of 95MB / s and 60MB / s write speed respectively.

Although it is not exactly the same since it is an external accessory, it must be taken into account that Apple charges practically double what Transcend offers us to go from 128 GB to 256 GB flash storage, so this option is something to consider.
