Trick: Delete iTunes in Lion

Screenshot 2011 09 14 to 14 00 59

It is not normal, but there are people who hate iTunes and may even want to delete it from the Mac, something that in principle "cannot be done" but that with a couple of actions can be solved quickly.

Goodbye old friend

iTunes is in Lion write-protected by users, so we only have read permissions and we can't delete it… until we change it. To do this we go to the app, we secondary click and we give Obtain Information to have the screen that you see heading the entry.

Once we have that screen we have to click on the padlock to unlock Permissions options and later we only have to change the one from «Read only» to «Read and write» to be able to delete the app in a totally natural way, as we would with any other.

Well, it won't let me change privileges because it tells me I don't have the "necessary permission." What I do?

You have to find how to unlock the root user and enter with it and you do it, there are other ways but that is the simplest, search in goo how the user is activated, it is very simple.
