Twitter confirms that it is abandoning support for its application on macOS

One of the negative aspects and one that has always been able to criticize the microblogging network Twitter, has been the carelessness when it comes to update your app, not just for Mac, but also for Windows, although the latter is worse than the version for Mac, and that is very difficult.

As confirmed by the company, through its official support account, Twitter drops support for the Twitter app for Mac, urging the users of this social network to make use of the web version, something that many users have been doing for a long time to avoid suffering by using the official application.

The Twitter application for Mac had not been updated for many months, in fact, despite having expanded the number of characters to 280, the app hadn't received that update yet and according to the company it will not receive it in the near future since it has withdrawn it from the Mac App Store. The company signs that it has made this decision to focus solely and exclusively on the web version, in order to further improve the service and be able to add new functions in the future.

Over the years, Twitter has often seen its own official app Eclipsed by more sophisticated and feature-rich third-party clients that he sometimes buys. Twitter bought the software that became Twitter for Mac (previously known as Tweetie for Mac) in 2010, although it is believed to have languished after the acquisition.

Over the last few years, Twitter has seen a large number of third-party applications offer more functions, as was the case with the Tweetie application for Mac, an application that it bought in 2010 to make it the official client of the social network.

Many are Twitter users who are expressing concern as the company might stop offering TweetDeck support, a fantastic client for multiple accounts and a large number of options that the company bought in 2011 for 40 million dollars.
