Despite the fact that Twitter is a social network that has always been free and free (and will probably continue to be), the company is considering the possibility of substantially improving its Tweetdeck application for the Mac desktop and offering a subscription service for it.
According to journalist Andrew Tavani, who has brought this to light, the social network recently contacted a select group of users, asking if they would be willing to pay for an experience "More advanced." This improved experience would bring new visualization and publishing tools, as well as statistics in a new, completely customizable panel.
Bookmarks, to-do list, option to save tweet offline, ability to cross-post, and even manage different accounts, as well as complete tweet customization for different groups of followers. And all this, in addition, accompanied by analytical tools that will allow to know and improve the use of the tool.
As we see, this new method that Twitter apparently wants to develop would be aimed at professionals who work with the tool, and to companies that need this social network as a promotional showcase. It is not yet clear whether they would offer a different payment option to conventional users.
Be that as it may, what seems clear is that the subscription that Twitter offers to change the improvements of these tools, could cost about € 19 per month. This movement of the social network can be justified due to bad data harvested by the company in the fourth quarter of 2016 on Wall Street.
So far, only one spokesperson has spoken on the part of the company, who has not revealed many more details:
“We are conducting these types of surveys to assess interest in a new and improved version of Tweetdeck. We regularly conduct this type of research through some users to gather feedback on the experience offered on Twitter, and to better support our product investment decisions. We are exploring several ways to make Tweetdeck even more valuable to the professionals who use it.. "
