Twitterrrific is updated by removing functions to adapt to the demands of Twitter

Weeks ago, Twitter announced changes in the apps to work with our social network account. If yesterday we learned about the changes to the Tweetdeck application for Mac, focusing on user accessibility, today we received the Twitterrrific performance. The changes, which surely will not be accepted by users, have to do with the removal of push notifications, as published by the developer on his blog websites.

Some users propose not to update to continue using the Push function, but this action will only take effect until the next August 16, date on which the API will be deactivated

Nor will we have Twitterrrific notifications available on our Apple Watch. But unfortunately this function is not the only one that will be disabled with the update. Live stream feature will not be available in current version. The developer left the following message on his blog.

As I write these lines, both push notifications and live tweets will continue to work until at least August 2018. Installing today's update means that you will lose the Twitterrific app for Apple Watch. Again, push notifications will continue to work until the outage. New customers will not be able to use these features in the future, and therefore we believe that it will not be fair to continue to charge for a service that we know is nearing completion.

Therefore, third-party Twitter applications have their days numbered by decision of the social network. We do not know what effect this decision may have on Twitter clients, as many of them use the social network on a daily basis and rely on these applications to easily program or carry out their work.

Predictably the next to make changes will be TweetBot, We hope at least that the ingenuity of the developers will allow us to advance by diversifying the functionalities that each application can provide. Perhaps aesthetic changes will attract other clients for third-party Twitter-based applications.

Until then, twitterrific It is available on the Mac App Store at a price of € 8,99, at the moment it is only in English, although its use does not require advanced knowledge.
