With the arrival of macOS Sierra and watchOS 3, Apple introduced a new function that allowed you to unlock a MacBook by using an Apple Watch. The user configured the computer to work under this function and when he lifted the lid if he had the Apple Watch on the laptop it unlocked immediately.

This concept has also been taken into account in the new MacBook Pros, but what they have used this time is a Touch ID sensor just as it has been implemented so far on iPads and iPhones. It is an area next to the now famous Touch Bar in which a kind of button has been located, It is not yet known if it is mechanical or not inside there is a fingerprint sensor that is covered by a sapphire crystal.

One of the main novelties of the MacBook Pro presented a few moments ago in Cupertino has been the Touch Bar, a kind of screen in which both the function keys present up to the previous version of these laptops are shown in full color, as well as countless controls that are adapted to what we are doing in the applications that we have open.

However, those from Cupertino have gone a step further and have also improved the security of our equipment that can now be unlocked with the same procedure as iPads and iPhones, using a Touch ID sensor. This does not mean that the laptop cannot be unlocked by entering the code of a lifetime, but now it is done faster and more securely this way.

This fingerprint sensor is not only going to be used to unlock the MacBook Pro and we all know that Apple wants to make Apple Pay grow more and more so that now when we are shopping online and enter a website that allows the purchase using this payment method, Just by putting your finger on this new button, the purchase will be authorized immediately and safely.

This security is based on a new chip that they have called Chip T1 and that we will have to wait a few days to learn more about it.
