Up to 6 months deferral in the Apple Card due to the Coronavirus

Apple Card

We have been informing you of the strategy of Apple and Goldman Sachs, for those Apple Card users in difficulties. During the Coronavirus pandemic, many companies have closed and many people are experiencing economic and social difficulties. Apple wants to help these people through deferral of payments generated by the Apple Card. The project also continues in August. A total of 6 months.

In March, when lockdowns and business closings began, many people suffered job losses and wage cuts. That is why many of them are in financial difficulties. One way to mitigate it is to postpone the payments generated for the use of the Apple Card.

The accrued interest could be deferred since the month of March, as long as the user has enrolled in the correct program and followed the necessary steps. In principle, the postponements were scheduled to end on July 31. However, it has been postponed for another month. So in total, some users will benefit from not paying those interest generated in six months.

Bread for today, hunger for tomorrow? Maybe yes, because after all, the interests have not volatilized, if not they have been deferred. Six months of postponement can be a big burden down the road. However, right now, we have to look at the present and these postponements are sure to come in handy for many families.

It must be remembered that, as we have said, these postponements are not automatic or for everyone. It must be expressly requested through the Customer Assistance program, within the Wallet application.

We'll see if it extends one more month, Because, having seen what is happening in the world, I am afraid that the pandemic will continue with us for a few more months.

Take care.
