Aside from indexing files and folders, Spotlight has more 'advanced' features that allow refine the search of our archives so that we can find exactly what we are looking for even if we do not remember the name of that specific file or in which folder we left it at the time. For this same reason, we can tell you to show us files in different time frames, whether they were modified at that time or if we had created them anyway.
This is very practical because the Spotlight itself, apart from distributing the files by categories We can also see them as we select the different types of content in its preferences.
To achieve this we will only have to open Spotlight with CMD + space bar or simply by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right and set the time frame, that is, for example if we want to search for any content from yesterday or even the day before yesterday Simply typing 'yesterday' or 'two days ago' in the search box will show us these files.
However, in this way we will not refine the search since will encompass any type of file but we can adjust more to tell it if we want it to show us only the files created on that date, the modified ones or all. For this we will also write
- Created: xx / xx / xxxx
- Modified: xx / xx / xxxx
In this way it will only show us that, but if we do not remember the name or even the creation or modification date we can tell it to look for us from a specific date forward or vice versa, backward. The commands that we must then insert would be:
- Created:> xx / xx / xxxx
- Modified:> xx / xx / xxxx
At this point we can change the symbol «>» to «<« depending if we want to search before or after the specific date and of course changing the "x" for dates.
