In this case, what we are going to tell you has to do with the OSX search engine par excellence, the Spotlight. This is a new feature that many of you may not know before reading this post. You will be able to use this search engine as a system calculator.
As you may already know, by sliding four fingers on the trackpad from left to right you can enter the Dashboard and view the widgets that you have installed among which, as standard, is a basic calculator. The point is that in order to make a simple calculation at a certain moment, we have to enter the Dashboard and then click with the mouse to make the calculation. All this takes time, so what we are going to explain to you today will help you reduce those times.
First, call the Spotlight by pressing the keys Command y space bar on the keyboard, or by clicking the little magnifying glass at the top right of your Mac screen. Now, you just have to write any mathematical expression. For example, if you type 500-34 * (100 + 1), Spotlight's calculation engine will evaluate the expression super fast with the correct order of operations and give you an answer of -2934 in less than a second.
You can make use of all the mathematical nomenclature that you usually use in a lifelong calculator and you don't even need to hit the intro to give you the solution.
