Use the 'Summarize Text' feature in OS X

For a long time, the Summarize Text function has been present in many versions of OS X such as added from context menuHowever, in the most current ones it has been eliminated as a default option and it will only appear if we previously activated it from the corresponding menu.

Summarizing is a very useful service if we know how to use it in a multitude of circumstances since it will give us the possibility of 'saving' different sentences or paragraphs even of a text to group them in a much shorter text in such a way as if let's highlight the most important parts of a book.

To activate the quick function of this service we will only have to go to the menu > System Preferences> Keyboard, once inside this option we will go to the quick functions tab and in the Services> Text submenu we will find the Summarize option, which we will mark so that it is available as a Service within other applications.

In this way, when we underline with the mouse the most important or interesting parts of a text, the option to use it will be activated and that we can build that summary.

Once the option is activated, pressing it will open a new window where those parts will be included and where we can choose the size of the paragraphs and in general the size of the abstract.

Although there are other methods to carry out this task, such as copying areas of the text and pasting them into another document or even opening a document exclusively for all the times that we have to use this function, the way to do it with the integrated function of the system it is much more comfortable and will save us a lot of time.
