Our beloved apple company already has hundreds of employees working in the virtual reality, this information has come to us thanks to the Financial Times.
Apple jumps into the virtual reality pool
Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has been absorbing several companies related to the virtual reality, such as Flyby Media, Methane, Faceshift, PrimeSense, etc. Of all of them, says the Financial Times, Apple has been taking employees to form a common team to develop this technology. If so, it would not take long to see an implementation of this type in our iPhone (Hopefully, but knowing Apple…).
The team is made up of not only experts in virtual reality, but also in motion capture, in augmented reality and in other aspects that can favor very positively when creating software or products in which to use the virtual reality.
It is said that already in times of Steve Jobs something similar was attempted. Our founder created a similar team that he later had to leave because they didn't yet have the technology to develop it with, but it was something they were planning. Now they would have got down to business again.
The most surprising thing is that it is rumored that Apple is preparing its own virtual reality glasses, with which would compete with the Oculus Rift itself and other devices of this type, such as Google Cardboards. If all this is fulfilled we could see it in the next WWDC 2016, along with the presentation of iOS 10 y Watch OS 3.
I personally highly doubt that Apple is going to get anything out of virtual reality So soon, I do not see him in this sector and I do not think he should face other companies in this way. Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), should focus on your operating systems and existing products, fixing bugs and improving them.
