Mojave Compatible VMware Fusion 11 Arrives and Hardware Optimizations

The popular program to virtualize operating systems for Mac, VMware Fusion 11 has just been updated, making it Mojave compatible and bringing better performance in general of the application with improvements in the internal part of the program.

The strategy chosen by VMware Fusion in version 11 has been to match the compatibility with Mojave, the day after the launch of Apple's desktop operating system for the next 12 months. Its competitor Parallels Desktop showed us its commitment to integration with Mojave about a month ago. Thus, now we can virtualize Windows 10 among others with VMware Fusion 11.

But the news does not end there. VMware Fusion will take advantage of the improvements in the latest version of Metal, which we know as Metal 2, as well as compatibility with DirectX 10.1. Working with VMware Fusion is very easy. First of all, a menu of applications appears in the Finder menu bar with all available operating systems (logically, we must have our own license for this system) and we can directly know their status.

Other settings allow us to quickly change, through shortcuts, the display modes operating system, or reboot the operating system. It is also possible run windows applications with just one click, without having to open windows completely. Finally, this version allows customize the Touch Bar on supported models.

On the security and aesthetic side, the VMware team has also worked. I know improves security especially on Specter and Meltdown-type threats. In terms of aesthetics, we find a revamped interface, taking care of every detail, so as not to clash with Mojave's elegant dark mode.

VMware Fusion 11 is compatible with up to the 18-core iMac Pro and the 9 MacBook Pro i2018. We can find one domestic version and a Pro. If we want to acquire the license for the first time, the current prices are € 89 and € 177 for the Pro version, and the upgrade from old versions to the current one, we can do it at the price of € 55 or € 132 respectively for the standard version or the professional.

Hello, I have a problem with VMware Fusion 11 in Mojave that opens only when clicking twice on a video (it is set to open by default with QuickTime) or certain types of files, which drives me crazy, since apart from wasting time on open the virtual machine, I have to close things that open directly, and I don't want to see it in windows.
I have looked at the MvVare configuration, and I have nothing with the check in default applications, nor do I have an app in the applications menu.
    I have MacBook Pro 15 ″ (2018) with Mojave 10.14.4
A couple of months ago I chose to format it and reinstall everything from scratch, at first fine, but suddenly the problem returned.
Let's see if someone can give me a hint what to do.
    Thank you very much
