We can now Jailbreak iOS 8.X from Mac

jailbreak mac

Today we are going to see a tutorial to Jailbreak an iOS device and from our Mac with the tool that the developers of the 25pp application have just launched. In principle the jailbreak for the latest versions of iOS has been available for a long time for Windows users (they always usually launch this version before) but now It is done available to all Mac users.

The tool itself is entirely in Chinese and so that you don't get lost in the process of making the jb to your iOS device, we are going to see a small guide with which we can jailbreak. The first and foremost thing before anything else is back up the device to your Mac the one you are going to do the jb, then we just have to follow these steps.

pp-jailbreak-mac

The PP jailbreak is untethered and it is compatible with the different models of iPhone, iPod and iPad that have any of the iOS 8 versions installed, even adding the latest one that has come out. The tool to perform the jb created by PP25 serves for Macs with OS X 10.7 or higher installed.

Here we leave the list of iOS devices compatible with this jb:

  • iPod Touch 5G
  • iPhone 4s
  • iPhone 5 / 5c / 5s
  • iPhone 6 / 6 Plus
  • iPad Mini / iPad Mini 2 / iPad Mini 3
  • iPad / iPad Air / iPad Air 2

If you had the device with jb from a previous version, it is best to restore from scratch (taking the backup copy and then loading it again) to clean any failure or problem of the previously installed or eliminated tweaks. Now we continue the process downloading pp version 1.0 for MacWe can do this clicking directly here, or by accessing the official website from the 25pp developers.

Once this is done we will update to the latest version available, iOS 8.1.2 And for this, it is best to do it from iTunes. It is recommended that once the backup is made, click on restore and deactivate any password to access the device (SIM pin, unlock code) and activate airplane mode. Now the steps are simple:

  • We open the downloaded application PP
  • We connect the device by USB cable, remove the locks, deactivate "Find my iPhone" and leave the device with airplane mode and active Wi-Fi
  • We start the Jailbreak process by pressing the central button that appears in the tool
  • In the second window we have two places to click, click on the option on the right
  • The process begins and after an automatic restart of the iOS device, Cydia appears
  • Once restarted we open Cydia and update
  • Now is the time to load our backup

Think that this new option for Mac is based on the code of the previous tool that is used for Windows called TaiG, so it is safe to jailbreak. Before any problem in the process, we can always resort to backup that we have in iTunes saved.

The improvements in the latest version of iOS are not remarkable, but it is always good to have the device with the latest iOS available and if we have the option to jailbreak, then great. Hopefully for the following versions of iOS the tool to jailbreak with our Mac will be launched at the same time since we always have the Windows version available first.

It seems really out of place for you to use this information forum to promote jailbreak on devices. Everyone is the owner of doing whatever they want with their devices and it is everyone's responsibility, but promoting doing so goes beyond the concerns that a publication like this should have. It sounds the same to me that you advise me to download pirated programs on my computer instead of using legal ones. One thing is that I download them of my own accord and quite another is that they suggest it to me from an official publication with this trajectory.
I think it is the only way to distinguish the chaff from the wheat.
I hope my point of view does not offend you but I think you should be more careful with what you post.
    Best regards

Good Daniel, the truth is that we do not force anyone to do jb on their device and the article explains how to do it from a Mac because until today it was not possible in this version and under no circumstances is it mandatory to do it on your device.

This is a topic that interests me and if the topic of the blog was not directly focused on Mac, we could talk at length about Jailbreak on iOS devices. But this is not the case, in the article we only want to facilitate the work of those who want to do the jb on their iOS device and we do not show links for 'free' applications or similar, the jailbreak is much more than that.

On the other hand, make it clear that doing the Jb on your iPhone is not illegal at all, what each one does once the jb is done goes with the person and has nothing to do with showing illegal download pages or similar.

En Soy de Mac We are totally against piracy. Greetings and thanks for your comment Daniel.
