We tested the Mobility Lab Hub Cylinder

USB HUB

A few days ago, my partner Carlinhos recommended you a fantastic USB 2.0 HUB with aesthetics very similar to that of Apple products and today we are lucky to have one in our possession. Thanks to the kindness of IDATA who has given us a unit to test, we can confirm what we already said: eIt is an accessory of the highest quality.

The first thing that strikes us is how well built it is. For the upper part, a polished aluminum casing has been used, in the lower part we find a non-slip rubber base and the USB cable that comes out of the right side has been reinforced at its end to prevent it from being damaged in case of excessive bending.

The four USB ports are functional But be careful, it is not a HUB that is powered through the electrical network, so it is likely that, depending on the energy consumption of the devices that we connect, not all of them work at full capacity.

The closest example we have found is the case of the new iPad. If we connect it to the iMac directly to the USB port, the device charges and synchronizes. If we connect it through the HUB, it synchronizes but does not load. Despite this common downside in all HUBs of this type, the ports are very accessible and its small size makes it worth buying without any doubt.

The prices of HUB Cylinder by Mobility Lab vary depending on the store where we buy it but the normal thing is to find it at prices that range between 29 euros and 39 euros. The best thing is that you ask IDATA directly and they will provide you with the address of the closest store so that you can know all the details.

Is such an expensive usb hub worth it? Yes, it is beautiful, but it is expensive, of course for tastes …… colors.

I think the same, a bit expensive to be a hub without power, so it only allows you to connect devices without a large consumption, or those that have integrated power. Pendrives, printers, mice ..., and charge the iphone if we do not connect anything else. I don't think I can with a self-powered 2,5 ″ usb disk, a mouse and charge the iphone.
Although I recognize that in design and finish it looks impressive.
    A greeting.
