What is happening at Apple with the design of its accessories?

What is happening at Apple with the design of its accessories? It is true the phrase in which many users do not tire of repeating: "This with Jobs did not happen"

Well today I am going to make a small reflection of all this and I want to share it with all of you so that you can also give me your opinion about the latest events that happened at Apple and those that occurred a few years ago, when Jobs, the great Jobs , was in the company of the bitten apple.

To start I will say that it is a personal opinion or appreciation With which I try to give my point of view on a topic that is being really recurrent these days on the net after the launch of the new iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case.

Apple Computer wurde 1976 von Steve Jobs (links) ...

"This with Jobs did not happen"

Without a doubt Apple is one of the companies that usually have very good taste or at least they used to have it in terms of their accessories, but wait, What accessories did Apple have? It turns out that Apple did go through a time when it had accessories such as printers or even a game console that almost no one knew about due to the limited success obtained. All or almost all Apple accessories arrived with the departure of Jobs from the company and once he re-entered, he was responsible for liquidating all these accessories that were left over. Obviously once re-established in the company, Jobs also launched some accessories that were a failure but in those times the basis was to grow the company and get to where it is today, so they left aside the manufacture and design of accessories for third parties and they only focused on the device itself and growing sales.

Another detail to take into account is that, unfortunately, Steve Jobs did not enjoy the worldwide fame that the Cupertino company has today and did not have to submit to the "scrutiny" of the whole world every time he launched a product because the company it was taking off. Mention the famous "ball mouse" that all the media are now talking about for its ugly design and that surely few know of its existence, Apple USB-Mousebut it is not an accessory itself, it is just a mouse with a strange design released in 1998 and that was not liked much.

What I mean is that Jobs was very good and a unique visionary that we will never be able to enjoy again, but I do not remember Jobs's Apple launching so many accessories for his devices and so observed by all, like Tim Cook's Apple.

Apple Product Design

Do we really believe that Apple lost the north in this section that it pampers so much? Can anyone tell me if the design of the new 12 ″ MacBook is ugly to you? It is true that it is a continuous design style and MacBooks resemble each other, but the design work is spectacular. I personally am not a design purist and rather I can say that I understand little about it, but the work done by Apple on their devices is spectacular.

Okay, the brand new battery case, the other iPhone 5c case in the purest Gruyère cheese style (which also received its own) or putting the Magic Mouse 2 charging connector on the bottom of the device can be considered a design error by Apple, but that is not why we are going to destroy all the work that Apple contributes to its non-accessory devices. It is good to be critical and all that, and you can also tighten a little more due to the price of the accessories themselves, but to say that Apple is losing the north on design issues or the phrase "with Jobs ..." is taking too much prominence, right do you think

But of course he lost it! Remember why the 3.5 screen size and the one-handed philosophy !? I remember that the important thing was that it was easy to use, but now they are reloading the OS of icons and options that are repeated over and over again! My last iPhone will be the iPhone 5S and the day it is out of support, if iOS does not improve so much in general I will have to choose to switch to Apple, which seems to be in agony after the death of Jobs

Remember that the "iPhonazos" can also be operated with one hand using the aids that Apple has designed for those models, such as the double soft touch on the button home. For example.

John Ive must have passed on the cover design to a fellow. 🙂

I put my opinion too. What happens? that they are going to live on the old designs that they liked 10 years ago? It is a company that sells now, so we cannot justify its current designs with old designs. The lines of the iphone6 and 6S, the design of the apple watch ... They are not only showing off in accessories ... If we look back we realize that in recent years they do not stand out for their good designs ... Apple is changing, it is a reality. Competition advances, catches up with lower prices, and apple cannot live off its innovation of 10 years ago.

    Regards!

That is quite true and I do not mention it directly but it is true, Apple seems to have been living on similar designs for many years but it is also true that they are not bad designs and sometimes a radical change can cause a drop in sales. And what you say about the competition Carlos, in the end everyone ends up innovating little and copying one another than investigating and pushing their own R&D.

Alberto, the Jony Ive now lives too well 😀

If it's true, they end up copying and not innovating, but everyone. Apple copies the same as it copies the rest. I dare to say, regretting it a lot, that it copies more than it innovates.

I think arguing over who is copying who is more than exceeded. Everyone has something that can be interesting as well as attractive. But this is firecracker; When one sees that third-party manufacturers take care of the design and quality of their products to match the aesthetics of the original products, why does Apple put a pack of cigarettes under a cover? For me it is a bit contrary to what one looks for in an Apple product: good, beautiful and ... (let's leave the cheap thing).
And the worst, when you buy a cover / battery from a brand and that in an iOS version disables it ... It is not defensible by the customer.
If Jobs were alive, wouldn't this happen? I think that's something that no one can answer because the person concerned is no longer with us, so we can't speak for him. But we can speak for ourselves, and this about the ... that monster, is not something that I would put on my mobile, and for one reason only ... I DON'T LIKE IT.

That hunchbacked cover is FEA, plain and simple that ... and in a company that all the time boasts of its very careful and differentiating designs (and that is why they add a plus to the price of its products) it is something that should be noted
