About three weeks ago we were talking about how to emulate Windows applications on Mac with a program called Crossover, which although it was not bad to use it from time to time, it still has many compatibility flaws and it was not an extremely advisable option except for very specific situations.
Today I bring you another application that basically performs practically the same function, emulating your favorite windows programs, but in an even better way and with far fewer errors than crossover. An option to take into account if we do not want to go through the virtualization hoop or have to install windows on another partition.
The first thing is to download from your home page the container, as it is not available in the Store. Once downloaded we will move it to our applications folder and we will execute it
When we open it, we will see how it shows us a series of options to download the program engine (usually we will always download the last) to later download the "wrapper" as well.
But let's go by parts, first we will download the program engine by clicking on the "+" button and follow the instructions.
Then we will do exactly the same with the wrapper or Wrapper, downloading the latest version, although it will give us options to try other previous versions if we want.
When finished he will ask us to let's name our wrapper or wrapper where you will install the specific application that we want to emulate.
From this moment on, it will install the necessary packages for the proper execution of the applications that make use of .NET and native HTML code.
With everything already installed, we simply have to look for our wrapper created within wineskin in this path / Users / »Your user» / Applications / Wineskin and run it to install the windows software we want. As you can see, a fairly versatile application that also works quite a bit better than other options.
