The rivalry within Windows and OS X has not been present in recent years only between users, but has also been present between Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft, Apple, Google, Samsung or even Huawei always try to amuse users ridiculing some aspects of the design, functionality ... of its rivals.
The Apple employees made a ad mocking windows 95, ad lasting just over 5 minutes. In the 90s, before the arrival of the iPhone, iPad and others, the commercial war was centered on the two great ones of computing: Apple and Microsoft, who competed to be the king. Needless to say, Bill Gates's company was the one that won.
Apple employees recorded the video that you can read on these lines to try to lift the spirits in the company, since at that time it was not exactly having a good time. In this ad, which was only distributed among Apple employees, they destroy Windows 95 by criticizing its operation through songs of the time. In the video we can see music clips of the songs U Can't Use This, Killing Me Softly With Windows and I Want a Mac all of them starring Apple employees.
Despite criticism, Windows 95 was a success
Regardless, Windows 95 a success for Microsoft. It became an unprecedented release thanks to the great marketing campaign that the company did hiring The Rollings Stores, turning on the Empire State Building lights to match the lights of the Windows logo, hiring Friends series stars Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston to record various commercials.
By the end of 1997, Windows 95 was installed on 100 million computers around the world. In 2001 it stopped giving official support and a year later, despite not having official support, it was still the largest operating system used with a share of 57,4%.
