WWDC: macOS Ventura is already a reality

macOS is coming

Apple has announced at today's WWDC, a developer conference that has been long, almost two hours, because there has been a lot of material to present, the new operating system for Macs. We have and with us the new macOS Ventura. It corresponds to macOS 13. A very structured operating system, with many new features and above all very efficient, thanks to the new M2 chip that has also been presented and that the new MacBook Air will wear.

We have to start by presenting which Macs are compatible with this new macOS Ventura. To put it quickly, you should know that they are the same as those compatible with the previous version and that they were compatible back in 2021. But we leave you a list that is always more visual:

  • 2017 iMac and later;
  • 2017 iMac Pro and later;
  • 2018 MacBook Air and later;
  • 2017 MacBook Pro and later;
  • 2019 Mac Pro and later;
  • 2018 Mac mini and later;
  • 2017 MacBook and later;
  • 2022 Mac Studio

Let's start with what's new in this new macOS:

Internship Manager

A new way to reorganize the desktop and the tabs that we have open. In this way, what is intended is to focus attention on the main open windows, those in which we work to leave the secondary ones aside. In this way, we focus and are more efficient and more productive. This new functionality is activated from the Control Center of our Mac.

What's new in FaceTime

A new virtue is added to FaceTime calls. Thanks to macOS Ventura and Handoff we can now take a call from the iPhone but end it on the Mac. Now that we are working remotely, it is something that will get us out of a lot of trouble because being able to exchange a call between iPhone and Mac is a very good idea.

By the way, now we can use that iPhone as a Webcam on Macs and also thanks to macOS Ventura.

Safari

Safari

We have news in which for Apple it is the best browser in the world and the most efficient for Macs. How could it be otherwise, Safari, which is Apple's browser, is the best option if we use a Mac. There is no doubt. Now it has also included some news that are old friends.

We return to have the navigation bar where always. The experiments are over and we have what we have always wanted.

One of the novelties that most caught my attention about the update is that users can now share the home page with their favorites and everything. Very useful to enter collaborative and family.

Email

At last. We have a number of features that have been missing for quite some time. Now we can undo a shipment if we have regretted it or as often happens, when we realize that we have not attached the file that we say we would have attached. We will have a certain time to be able to go back as if nothing had happened.

We can also schedule shipments and generate alerts from our emails.

Spotlight

Search on Macs has gotten much better with macOS Ventura. It has been redesigned to show much more effective results. Also now we can search for images using the Live Text functionality. One last!

We have more news, but we will unravel them as we see how the betas evolve. Which by the way, Apple has commented that it will be fast so that in the fall we can all enjoy this new macOS.
