As confirmed those responsible for Yahoo, this trimming has been carried out in order to maintain affunctionality, speed and security according to the possibilities of the latest systems, so iOS devices that do not support iOS 5 onwards, will not be able to synchronize their data with our servers.

Of course this change only affects the synchronization from the native application, that is, it can be followed accessing Yahoo mail from the Safari browser at mail.yahoo.com. When it comes to Yahoo Contacts, the company would also remove the option to sync data on older Macs. On June 15, owners of Mac computers running a version of OS X earlier than OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion will not be able to sync their contacts through the native system option.

As in iOS, if you are with a Mac on OS X 10.7 Lion or earlier, we can still access Yahoo Contacts through Yahoo Mail in the browser.

On the other hand Yahoo Music in France and Canada and Yahoo Movies in Spain, will close in mid-June. Others such as the Yahoo website in the Philippines will be grouped on the Yahoo Singapore page.

It seems that Yahoo wants to focus its efforts more on improve a few services to cover too much and not stand out at all.
