Yesterday's macOS Catalina 10.15.5 update is minor, but important

Catalina

Yesterday in Cupertino they went crazy and they released updates for all their devices. At eight o'clock in the evening the whole family had our Apple devices with a black screen and a white apple.

And the good (and disturbing) thing about it is that it has been a «patch" of security. The iPhone was waiting for it, to close the door to the "exploid" that this week has allowed the jailbreak of the current version of iOS. But if they have updated all the devices, it means that they have discovered a security flaw and have remedied it immediately. So it's best to upgrade, even if it's a "minor" upgrade.

In addition to Monday's operating system updates for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, and Apple Watch, Apple has also released a minor additional update for macOS Catalina 10.15.5.

The update patches a severe vulnerability that can be used to execute malicious code, so users are advised to install the update as soon as possible. That it is minor does not mean that it is not important.

The company has also released the first preview version of macOS Catalina 10.15.6 for developers, but there don't seem to be any major differences compared to the current version.

Since macOS 10.16 will be with us soon (expected to be in WWDC 2020 June 22), it wouldn't make sense to add a lot more new features to the current version of Catalina.

This shows that the "patch" released yesterday only contains the fix of some "hole»Security that the Cupertino guys have located lately.

So for our peace of mind and fullfilment of security requirements of our Macs, even if it is a minor update, we must do it the sooner the better. Go to System Preferences, Software Update, and if the new version appears, it is because your Mac is not updated yet. Do not think about it and do it.

Well, since I update to 10.15.5, almost all the applications are hanging and I cannot see my iPad Connected by usb in the Finder.
    Any advice?
