You can now make purchases in Ireland and pay with Apple Pay

Almost three months ago we did not know anything about Apple Pay, in the same day we have two news items related to Apple's electronic payment system. The Cupertino-based company has just updated the list of countries where Apple Pay is already available adding Ireland among the lucky ones. At the moment we only find two banks, but presumably more will arrive over time. In this way, Ireland, where Apple's headquarters for Europe and other countries are located, becomes the fifteenth country to offer Apple Pay as a form of electronic payment to all its users.

As I have commented above, Apple Pay is only supported by two banks: KBC Bank Ireland and Ulster BankTherefore, if you live in Ireland and have an account in one of these two banks, you can now add your cards to be able to pay with the Apple Watch or through the iPhone. Ireland has become the next country to receive Apple Pay after it arrived in Spain in early December. The next countries where the arrival of Apple Pay is scheduled, according to the Apple Pay website, are Germany and Italy, although Taiwan, which has already obtained the approval of the authorities, could arrive earlier.

Apple has taken advantage of the launch of Apple Pay in Ireland, to add a list of the top merchants in the country that support Apple Pay Among which we find Aldi, Boots, Centra, Dunnes Stores, Harvey Norman, Insomnia, Lidl, Marks and Spencer, Supervalu… But it is also possible to pay at service stations of the Applegreen and Ambel Oil companies. Apple Pay is currently available in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Russia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, and Spain.
