Sony has announced that starting tomorrow PlayStation 4 users will have the opportunity to remotely play the titles of the console both on Mac and PC with Windows OS.

This addition comes in the form of a software update for the PlayStation 4 with version 3.50 of the system, known with the codename Musashi. According to Sony, with this update highlights the option of being able to show "offline", receive notifications when a friend connects, improvements are introduced in the interaction of the online game and especially the expected remote use from our computers, with this the capabilities are expanded of the PS4 'remote play' feature that was currently only supported on PS Vita and Sony Xperia mobile devices.

Remote Play on PC and Mac now supports the software of the following systems:

  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10 or later
  • OS X 10.10
  • OS X 10.11

Of course, the only thing we have to do depending on network speed will be the resolution options and the rate of images per second:

  • Resolution options: 360p, 540p, 720p (default is 540p)
  • Frame rate: Standard (30fps), High (60fps) (default will be Standard)

To be able to use this remote use function we can connect our DualShock 4 via USB cable to the computer so that after carry out the software update we can use it. This is a long-awaited update by users of the Sony console and we were already talking about in this post.
