If you care about weight and size, this is the ultimate SSD for your MacBook

SanDisk Extreme 500

The holidays have arrived and you are thinking of buying a portable hard drive that is not rotating, that is, a solid state memory SSD and that at the same time is ultra compact and very robust. If this statement meets what you think, The option that we present to you today is going to become your best option.

Those of us who are looking for portability when it comes to laptops, we opted for equipment such as 12-inch MacBook from Apple. However, later we find ourselves in the situation that accessories, among which we have external hard drives, increase the volume and final weight of the set.

SanDisk has thought about that and created a ultra compact and very robust SSD hard drive. On their website we can read:

The SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) is half the size of your smartphone and provides up to four times the speed of a portable hard drive. Get to work in seconds, transferring large photo and video libraries at up to 430MB / s, a speed portable hard drives can only dream of. Designed for durability and style, this unit is incredibly compact with no moving parts to break. Solid-state technology offers reliable, fast-response, and high-performance storage for photographers and videographers who capture and transport many large media files. If you care about your daily work, your portable storage unit should be a SanDisk Extreme 500.

Without a doubt, it is a very good option that you can buy in different capacities, among which you can choose the 120, 240 and 480 GB. On the following web page you can see prices and shipping methods, but we can tell you that the 480 GB one has a price of 198,11 euros and shipments are made to the Canary Islands.

I'd like to ask for help, please. I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro that's been really slow since I upgraded to El Capitan and I wonder if putting this disk on it might be a solution. If so, where could I take it to have the disc changed ???? I don't dare to do it… I hope you can guide me !!! Thanks a lot!!!!!!

I think, if I'm not wrong, this disk is external like a usb, that's why it talks about not increasing the weight, probably your mac, it is no longer valid to support the OS captain

So can I increase the Ram up to 16 Gb ?????? That might be a good option ... I have it quite "clean" of programs, or so I think ... I will try to increase the Ram. Thank you very much for your help to both !!!!!!!!
