Dager før starten av julehandelen har Apple nettopp lagt til en avtale med flere banker og kredittinstitusjoner om å tilby støtte for betalinger gjennom Apples NFC-teknologi. Etter å ha lagt til disse 66 nye bankene og kredittinstitusjonene, antall enheter som allerede godtar Apple Pay-teknologi, stiger til 850 bare i USA. Utenfor USA er Apple Pay bare tilgjengelig i Storbritannia, Canada og Østerrike, men det kommer snart til Spania, Hong Kong og Singapore fra American Express.
