In the latest version of the well-known password manager 1Password, in its version for macOS, the developer has been forced to disable automatic password submission, which until now we had available. This function allows us enter a service almost instantly, more if possible if you have a Touch ID on your Mac.

The reason we don't have this highly valued feature at our disposal is the increased security of macOS Mojave. In the words of a 1password executive, this reason is more than justified and the company is working to implement this action quickly, but safely.

Users who have the paid version, so far, can access the services that required a password fully automatically. The 1Password service was in charge of detecting the web, entering our username and password and accepting. In this way, in less than a second this service was entered.

In macOS Mojave, security has increased. Therefore, it allows us to do the first part, put username and password, but Mojave prevents third-party apps from confirming the action. The company is knowledgeable, it has spoken in this regard:

1Password automatically leaves the information in the password field, but now you will need to click the Submit button. Just hit the Enter key and you are all set.

michael fey, a company executive, understands that Apple's decision is correct and understands it:

When 1Password automatically sends a password, you have no way of knowing if you are entering a password in a legitimate password field or something created by a fraudulent website. If a password is sent automatically, users do not have the opportunity to say "no"

We strongly believe that removing the ability to send passwords automatically is the right choice, it protects not only the user experience, but also your security. I'll be completely transparent - it took me a little getting used to, but now that it's part of my workflow.
