1Password for Mac is updated by adding new functions in the mini interface

1Password

1Password became a few years ago reference within the application market to be able to securely manage all our passwords directly from our mobile device. The application had a fixed price, 9,99 euros in the Apple application store and around 40 euros in the Mac App Store.

But for a couple of years, everything has changed. The change began when Apple began offering improvements in the percentage that remains of each monthly subscription, going from 30 to 15% when the subscription goes from the first year. This motivated many developers to adopt this method of monetization, since it assured them a fixed income every month, despite the fact that it was not a dish of good taste for users.

1Password

By opting for a subscription system, the company allows us to download applications for free on all platforms in which it is available, giving us a period of 15 days so that we can test it and see all the benefits it offers us, which are practically the same as in the beginning.

Over the years, the guys at Agilebits have been updating the applications and adding new functions to justify that the monthly or annual subscription that is paid is really worth something. The latest update to 1Password for Mac focuses on adding new features to 1Password mini, the application available on the top toolbar.

The main novelties that this update offers us are:

  • Displays the items that match the most important website or app.
  • Fill in the fields for your passwords, credit cards, and address information on a web page.
  • Generate new passwords quickly and easily.

Agilebits claims that listened to the community and introduced these news since they were the functions that users who religiously pay a subscription miss the most.

In order to use 1Password on all platforms, the guys from Agilebits put at our disposal two monthly plans of 3,99 and 7,49 euros, in addition to two other annual plans of 37,99 and 62,99 euros. Depending on the number of licenses that we are going to need, we will have to pay one amount or another.

Those of us who bought the app, which cost a penny, are in version 6.8.9. Will there be no more updates? Do you have to pay subscription by force?
