Once again we have to talk about personnel movements in executive positions at Apple. This time we talk about the Head of Diversity at Apple, Christine Smith, who as we can read in Bloomberg has left the company for personal reasons, to spend more time with her family.
Christie Smith came to this position replacing Denise Young-Smith, who resigned from this position in November 2017, after serving as Apple's vice president of global human resources. It seems that Apple did not just find stability in this position, a position of vital importance for the company today.
The announcement of Christie's march comes days after Tim Cook's announcement where he claimed he would conduct a $ 100 million investment to advance racial justice and equality. Apple made this announcement days after the George Floyd police death riots in Minneapolis.
In the statement that Apple has sent to Bloomberg confirming the departure of Christine, we can read:
Inclusiveness and diversity are core values at Apple, and we deeply believe that the most diverse teams are the most innovative. Christie Smith is leaving Apple to spend more time with her family and we wish her the best. Our Inclusion and Diversity team continues to report directly to Deirdre O'Brien on the Executive Team.
Christie announced her departure two months ago, being his last day of work last Tuesday, a change that has also been reflected in his LinkedIn account. At the moment the person who will replace Christie is not known, but most likely Apple will take it very calmly until it can entrust this important position to a person, either from the company or from outside, so that not the few years, this department remains if its top manager.
