Apple's streaming video service continues to reach agreements to expand the catalog available on its platform. A few days ago he announced the arrival of 3 nature documentaries Narrated by the actors Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Olivia Colman (The Crown) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki in the Marvel Universe).
But in addition to documentaries, series and movies, Apple also wants to offer specials. The Cupertino-based company has announced a collaboration with Mariah Carey to produce a Christmas special. This new production occurs when the 25th anniversary of the song is celebrated All I Want For Christmas Is You Of the singer.
This special «will combine music, dance and animation and it will tell us a universally moving story that brings the world together. In the press release that Apple has published to make this agreement we can read:
"The Mariah Carey Christmas Special," an exclusive holiday event from global, multi-platinum superstar, multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Mariah Carey, who will debut globally on Apple TV + this holiday season.
The new special will premiere on the 25th anniversary of Carey's iconic Christmas anthem No. 1, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," and will feature legendary icon Carey and a group of stars with surprise appearances on a magical journey. Christmas tree to fan the Christmas spirit around the world.
The producers of this special are Ian Stewart, Raj Kapoor and Ashley Edens and will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, BAFTA award winner and who has also directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the London Olympic Games. Also collaborating in this special is Roman Coppola, winner of a Golden Globe.
At the moment Apple has not announced the date on which this special will be released but most likely it will during the first week of December.
