Apple is testing 5G technology

Cupertino

According to a report leaked by Business Insider, the Cupertino-based company filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to conduct relevant testing of the next generation of 5G data rates. Apple will initiate a battery of tests in search of the most efficient method to incorporate this technology.

This new technology can be used in any of the mobile devices in which it is implanted, as well as in its Titan project, Apple's autonomous car still unconfirmed, which would surely use a large amount of data.

Thanks to this request, the Cupertino boys are allowed to test from two locations in the state of California, one near their current headquarters, and one in Milpitas. The new technology will be tested over a 12-month period, using equipment that will work with frequencies between 28 and 39 GHz.

As the request made by Apple to the FCC adds:

«We will carry out evaluations that will provide engineering data relevant to the correct operation of devices in future 5G wireless networks of the company."

The report to which we have had access ensures that The tests may not be extended beyond those 12 months. That makes us think that Apple will not implement this technology throughout this year, in any of the products that will be launched on the market throughout 2017.

We are waiting to learn more about these tests, which seek to improve wireless networks, in order to make use of a greater amount of data As always, Apple weaving its networks in many areas of the current technological ecosystem.
