Apple shareholders could force the company to hire more executives of color

Apple Inc. shareholders could make history next year by deciding whether the company should increase the number of executives of color for greater racial diversity with a vote on a proposal that has long been in the making and that the iPhone maker has tried to stop.

This proposal was presented by an investor named Antonio Maldonado, who owns 645 shares of the company and who would plant that Apple should be more open about diversity racial profiling in high-level executive profiles as the percentage of black and Hispanic people would have decreased compared to last year.

Apple on his side said to the Securities and Exchange Commission that he believes that he does not have to include said proposal in his plans since it is an unnecessary recruitment action since although they always try to maintain the maximum racial diversity possible, job offers do not have to be subject to the applicant's skin color or race.

The SEC's Corporate Finance Division (Securities and Exchange Commission) in the United States, stated in an open letter on December 11, that the agency did not agree with the company. But now it is up to Apple whether the issue should be put to a vote at the annual shareholders meeting in 2016, which has not yet been scheduled.

The company could decide do not include this topic at said meeting, which could cause the SEC to react to this possibility since Apple has not yet responded to the emails that have been sent or the phone calls.

From my point of view, Apple has always been a company that has been characterized by hiring many people for their talent and not because of his race, being one of the companies with more racial diversity of the world, however it does not always rain to everyone's taste and possibly more than one will find this data scarce and will want it to also be transferred to the top of the company.

Absurd Buenrollismo that reveals the world to be built. Is racial equality considered before the qualifications of the candidates? The West is slowly destroying itself.
